Encompassing almost 40,000 square kilometers of Southeastern Vietnam, the Mekong Delta region is abundant with water, fruit orchards, and most importantly, rice fields. It produces about half of Vietnam‘s agricultural output and is the best place to experience the timeless scenery of farmers planting and harvesting rice.

The boat is entirely built of wood with the hull made from go sao, a now rare wood traditionally used for building quality ships. With a large restaurant, galley and upper deck, there is plenty of space to relax and enjoy the laid back rhythms of the Mekong Delta.

Mekong Delta Tours / Bassac Specical Cruise – Itinerary

As you board ‘The Bassac’ and depart towards Cho Lach on the Tien Giang River, enjoy a delectable lunch on the boat’s upper deck. Along the way, visit a local village, fruit orchard, and rice field where you can learn more about the way of life here in the Delta. As the sun sets, sit back, watch the scenery, and enjoy a cocktail before dinner.

Overnight aboard ‘The Bassac’.

Day 2 – Can Tho – Ho Chi Minh (B)
An early breakfast will be served whilst the boat cruises the Tra On floating market on the way to Can Tho. Here, you will disembark and travel by a small local boat to explore the Cai Rang floating market. The waterway becomes a maze of hundreds of boats packed with mango, bananas, papaya, pineapple, and even floating pho vendors. After your visit, you will be met by your driver and transferred back to Ho Chi Minh City.
